Cristina Ignacio has been a Registered Nurse for over 9 years and is a co-founder for Blu Cocoon MedSpa. Cristina’s nursing career started in Intensive Coronary Care at various hospitals in the area, including Valley Medical Center and finally, Stanford Hospital. During her career in the hospital, she served as both Staff Nurse and Resource Nurse. She has also successfully helped to launch several committees unit and hospital wide. She became interested in the aesthetic field and transitioned into this field of nursing a couple of years ago. She worked for a local medspa as an Aesthetic Nurse before deciding to dive into this field full-time. She finds pleasure in helping her clients’ external appearance match their internal youthfulness. Cristina is certified in several laser and light therapy applications, skin rejuvenation treatments, Botox, Restylane, and Lipodissolve injections. She has also been extensively trained to provide skin care consulting. Cristina is an aesthetic nurse and will also manage the day to day operations of the medspa.

Cecilia Cayabayab has been a Registered Nurse for over 15 years, most of which was spent in management and staff development. She is co-founder for Blu Cocoon MedSpa. She currently works at O’Connor Hospital as Clinical Manager of Medical/Surgical Oncology unit. Her management duties include overseeing the daily operations of the unit, as well as staffing, budget, and ensuring delivery of quality care by competent staff. She is familiar with the legalities of what it takes to run a medical facility, from accreditation to staff certification. She has certification in several laser and light therapy applications, skin rejuvenation treatments, and Botox and Restylane injections. Cecilia is an aesthetic nurse, and will assist in the management of the daily operations of the medspa.

Tamara completed her undergraduate nursing degree at Azusa Pacific University and her Masters in Science at the University of California San Francisco. She has been actively involved as a Nurse Practitioner in Sports Medicine and has enjoyed the transition into aesthetic medicine in 2006.
Tamara finds pleasure in assisting clients achieve their aesthetic goals, whether it is using lasers, injectibles, or medical grade products. She has been extensively trained to provide skin care consulting and has certifications in several laser treatments for the body and face, as well as injections of Botox, Dermal Fillers, and Lipodissolve.

Lisa completed her undergraduate nursing degree at University of San Francisco and her Masters in Science at the University of California San Francisco. She is nationally certified as a Nurse Practitioner with the ANCC and has experience in Internal Medicine and Women's Health as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Lisa has thoroughly enjoyed her career as a Nurse Practitioner and is ecstatic about her transition into aesthetic medicine. Lisa has a deep passion for aesthetic medicine and skin care. She enjoys spending time with clients to inform, teach, and individualize treatments tailored to each client. She is certified in several laser and light treatments.

Cathy has been a registered nurse for over 25 years. The majority of her professional career has been spent with women - in the hospital on the obstetrics unit, as manager of a prenatal home care company and then in esthetic medicine. She spent 6 years working for a very prominent plastic surgeon, Dr. Frederick Grazer in Newport Beach, California. In 2003, she began working at Encore MedSpa when it first opened in Walnut Creek. Cathy is certified in the use of several different types of laser systems (Candela, Laserscope, Syneron, Palomar and Aesthera). She has advanced training in Botox, Fillers (Radiesse, Restylane, Juvederm, Collagen), Mesotherapy/Lipodissolve and Sclerotherapy. In addition, Cathy works part time as a trainer for Aesthera's Isolaz PPx system. She plans on sitting for the new certification exam offered to aesthetic nurses this year..

Jamie has over 6 years of experience as an esthetician. She has extensive training and knowledge of skin anatomy, chemistry and physiology. Her expertise includes clinical facials with an emphasis on extractions, chemical peels, and product education. Jamie's experience will help you achieve healthy skin and minimize the signs of aging, by customizing a skin care regimen specifically for your skin type. Jamie has four years experience working in a medical clinic with Dermatologist and Plastic Surgeons.

Susan is currently a student at De Anza College working on her degree in Nursing. She brings over 5 years of experience in the med spa industry to Blu Cocoon in addition to several years of management and sales experience within the healthcare industry. She has a vast and thorough knowledge of the skincare products and services that are offered at Blu Cocoon MedSpa. Her responsibilities include management of the internal and external marketing of the MedSpa.

Hana comes from a customer service background with over 15 years of experience. Her responsibilities include managing the daily operations of the med spa and research and development of corrective skincare programs. She is also highly involved in developing long term customer relationships.

Kelly is currently a student at San Jose State University, working on her undergraduate degree in Business. She brings over 6 years experience in client care and service, 3 of those years are from the MedSpa industry. She provides an organized and enjoyable work space for clients. Her duties include maintaining an efficient front office, as well as, making sure each client has a pleasant experience.

A licensed esthetician and former retail manager of a cosmetic company, Paige has the perfect combination of technical literacy and customer service. Such background chemistry is perfect for an established medical spa such as Blu Cocoon. Currently, Paige is pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing and hopes to utilize her education to better accommodate the clients that chose Blu Cocoon as their first and last stop to a healthier and more beautiful future.

Dr. James Amsberry is a highly-skilled Plastic Surgeon with a distinctive academic background. With over 14 years of surgical expertise and extensive experience in Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) and Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Amsberry consistently received top honors throughout his academic life, including graduating Summa Cum Laude from the Franciscan University (BA). He earned his medical degree from the ORU - School of Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma where he likewise garnered a host of awards and distinctions. He went on to eight years of surgical training in several prestigious institutions including University of California (Davis-East Bay) Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (Philadelphia, PA), Oregon Health Sciences University (Portland, OR), and is currently the Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Naval Medical Center, San Diego, California.

He is a member of various reputable medical organizations such as the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Academy of Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery) and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is currently active in the practice of laser medicine and surgery and a Medical monitor of several laser research projects.

Mr. James Parrott has 20 years of diversified healthcare business development and management experience. His extensive healthcare background includes serving as Administrator of a multi-site Cosmetic Surgery group; Western Regional Manager for a major pharmaceutical firm; and Vice President of Business Development for an emerging healthcare company with responsibility for opening a multitude of free-standing facilities across the western half of the United States.

Mr. Parrott brings a wealth of knowledge in the areas of Regulation Compliance, Insurance, and acquisition of Medical Technology.

Mr. Buckingham is a founding board member of the International Medical Spa Association and serves as their Vice President of Corporate Affairs. He has co-created, with the University of California, Irvine, a new Spa and Hospitality Management Certificate Program. The first and only one of its kind in the United States, this program meets the growing spa and wellness industry demands for spa management professionals. Mr. Buckingham serves on the UCI faculty of this new program teaching the MedSpa and Marketing courses.
