Facial Exfoliating SkinMedica Products

Exfoliation is one way that you can keep your skin fresh and glowing. It improves the skin’s appearance and topical treatments are able to penetrate more deeply.

The process of exfoliation removes the topmost layer of dead skin cells. As we age, our skin cell turnover rate slows and our skin can become dull from the buildup of dead cells. A Facial Mask Peel at Blu Cocoon is a great way to get in a deeper exfoliation but many of our clients want to know what they can use at home to exfoliate effectively.

Two gentle, yet effective exfoliation products that we highly recommend are by SkinMedica. They both contain a combination of alpha hydroxy (AHA) and beta hydroxy (BHA) acids that work together to exfoliate the skin and reveal a more youthful appearance. Use them together for optimum results.

SkinMedica in San Jose at Blu CocoonSkinMedica’s AHA/BHA Exfoliation Cleanser scrubs away dead skin, improving the appearance of tone and texture. This cleanser is gentle enough for all skin types. For optimum results, use in the morning and the evening (as tolerated). You will be thrilled with your skin radiance and luminosity.

SkinMedica’s AHA/BHA Cream is designed to be used after cleansing and toning and other products, but before sunscreen. The cream will exfoliate and improve tone and texture. You will find that your skin is brighter.

Both of these products are to be used on the face and can also be used on the neck and chest (if desired). The AHA may increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunburn so we recommend using a sunscreen and limiting sun exposure while using these products.
